Tottenham Hotspur have signed long-term target Georges-Kevin N’Koudou from Marseille.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder joins the White Hart Lane club after a prolonged pursuit and joins on a contract which runs until 2021.

The deal was held up by a change in presidency at the French club and the need for Clinton N’Jie to secure a loan move in the opposite direction.

With N’Jie heading to the Ligue 1 club on a season long loan, the deal has now gone through to the delight of N’Koudou.

He told the Spurs website: "I'm really delighted to sign for this team. It's a really great English club with a lot of ambition, which is the reason why I have moved here.

"I always dreamed of playing in England and I watched a lot of Premier League football last year, including Tottenham games. That's what attracted me.

"It's true that I watched many Premier League games when I was a child as well and I remember a few players that made me want to come here - Gareth Bale for instance, who has played here.

"There was also Cristiano Ronaldo when he was playing for Manchester United. They inspired me because they play the way I like to - they like to challenge defenders, to dribble.

"I can't wait to get started with the Premier League and the English game. It suits my playing style, it's explosive.

"Everyone knows I'm fast and I like to dribble around players, so the English league is best for me."

N’Koudou has impressed during his time with Marseille and has 10 times in 41 appearances for the club.
