England Manager Roy Hodgson has included five Tottenham players in his initial 26-man squad for Euro 2016.

Spurs’ top scorer Harry Kane is joined by Dele Alli, Kyle Walker, Danny Rose and Eric Dier in the squad which will be trimmed to 23 by Monday, May 30.

Kane ended the season as the Premier League’s leading scorer with 25 goals, and will be looking to add to his four international goals to date.

Alli has had a hugely impressive breakout campaign at White Hart Lane and has scored once in his six caps for the Three Lions.

Walker and Rose meanwhile have looked assured in defence as Mauricio Pochettino's side launched an ultimately unsuccessful pursuit of the title.

Meanwhile, Dier’s transformation into a holding midfielder has seen him be fast-tracked into the England set-up.

All five will expect to make the final squad, and will also fancy their chances of pushing for a place in the starting XI for England’s first match of the tournament against Russia on June 11.

England, who are in group B, also face matches against Wales on June 16 and Slovakia on June 20.

There is also a call-up for former Tottenham man Andros Townsend who finished the season strongly under Rafa Benitez at Newcastle.
