Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has quashed talk of a move to Manchester United after stating his desire to win silverware at Tottenham Hotspur.

Lloris could replace David de Gea at United, should the Spaniard sign for Real Madrid this summer, however, the 28-year-old is adament he wants to clinch trophies with Spurs.

The French international told the club website: “We always want a better season. We expect to improve as a team and to get the club as high as possible in the league.

“We also want to enjoy it as much as possible with our fans, to go far in cup competitions – that's always a good feeling – and to win trophies.

“The expectation is always the same and we work every day for the chance to win something.”

Tottenham were unable to qualify for the Champions League or win a trophy last season, but Lloris insisted that the future is bright at White Hart Lane.

“In general it was a good season,” he insisted. "There were some ups and downs but we had some great moments to remember.

“We were involved in four competitions until February and a lot of young players came through and started playing regularly for the team.

“This is massive because they represent the future of the club.”
