Haringey Hawks have clinched their place in the Community Basketball League finals.

The side knocked out Croydon Cougars, Kennington Generals and Tower Hamlet Trojans on Sunday at the Crystal Palace national sports centre.

The Hawks are set to play Islington Panthers in the CBL Finals on Sunday, June 7 at the Copper Box Arena in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford.

Haringey’s first game against Croydon Cougars resulted in MVP Jordan Okafor and Ryan Springer dunking every opportunity that came their way. Cougars did well to block a few shots, but it wasn't enough to stop the powerful duo helping their side win 62-43.

Hawks went on to play Kennington Generals and Tower Hamlet Trojans in the semi-finals.

In their first game against Kennington, Haringey’s Javel Small produced a superb performance scoring 15 of the 31 points in the first half before helping the team clinch a 54-40 victory.

The Hawks’ last game against Tower Hamlet Trojans saw a star performance from Marcel Kofi, who played aggressively and hit multiple threes to put the Hawks in the lead. Haringey extended their advantage eventually prevailing 54-39.

Small said: “We’ve had a great season so far so getting through to the finals is great for us as we’re going to do everything we can to finish strong and get the win.”
