Haringey Hawks edged out CONEL Warriors 59-56 at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre on Sunday.
The Hawks were strong defensively and leading scorer Jayden Ahmet finished with 13 points to send his side into the third quarter with a 28-24 lead.
However, Warriors’ Robert Striganvicius and Michael Joel Stuart were also on form and helped close the gap and level the scores at 52-52.
But the Warriors were unable to keep pace with the Hawks, who roared back in front with Ryan Spirngs, Ahmet and Marcel Kofi to the fore.
Speaking afterwards, Ahmet said: “It’s all about team effort for us and not getting complacent.
“I'm glad we worked as a team right to the end and winning just paid off our hard work.”
