A MAN will spend life in jail after murdering a man and leaving his body near a railway line.

Kamil Czarnomski, of no fixed address, beat Pawel Chwalinski to death before covering him with a sleeping bag and bike frame in an underpass below the train line off Park View Road, Tottenham.

The 23-year-old murder, who is originally from Poland, pleaded guilty at the Old Bailey on Friday and will serve a minimum of 17 years.

Czarnomski had tried to use Pawel's bank card to withdraw money from a cash machine shortly after the attack.

A post-mortem examination, which was held on November 19, at Haringey Mortuary, gave the cause of death as head and neck injuries.

DCI Piscopo said: "This was a despicable and cowardly act. Pawel was on crutches after breaking his leg and would have had little chance to defend himself from Czarnomski's attack.

"Czarnomski's first actions after assaulting Pawel was attempting to cover his tracks by concealing the body and attempting to steal his money."
