A children’s hospice is calling for volunteers to help provide more care for patients at home.
Noah’s Ark Hospice, based in Barnet, is hoping to help young people in Haringey, who have life threatening and limiting conditions, receive support in the comfort of their homes.
Mary O’Toole introduced the hospice’s volunteer model in 2008, as she said the volunteers will help out families and relieve some of the pressure involved in full time care.
She said: “I’m delighted that the impact and value of this model is garnering interest nation-wide. Certainly our experience has been that benefits are proven to volunteers themselves, as well as families, along with providing vital efficiencies to our organisation.”
