PEOPLE are split on whether England should stay or leave the European Union. Reporter Rachel Russell headed down to White Hart Lane to see what people think.

Danielle Simones, 18, who works at Solmaz Supermarket, is voting out.

She said: I feel it would be safer to leave and have our own controls over security in our streets.

At the moment it is dangerous, especially in this area. When you walk home you get stopped and followed by people but the police do not help.

I also think there will be more jobs for people in this country, although everyone just thinks about money and makes decisions based on that.

In a union, everyone should be integrated and living peacefully together but they are not. I think the EU has not worked.

Chris Udorly, owner of QBS Estate Agents, in White Hart Lane, will vote to remain.

He said: People seem fearful of staying in the EU and the issue often relates back to immigration, but I do not think people coming over here is necessarily a bad thing.

Many people travel to Britain because they think there is something worthwhile coming over for, such as a job and better quality of life. They bring skills, a good work ethic, which is all very helpful.

I came here in 1977, as my father was working in the UK as a doctor for the NHS and I followed him over and built up my own estate agent business over the years.

I feel the economy in Britain has a lot to lose if people vote to leave. It is a small island but it is very influential.

If Britain goes, we will surely regret it because we will lose all influence we have now and will not have a say in political matters and our European allies would disappear.

The country needs the EU so that it can keep its trade links and also so people will not have to apply for visas if they want to travel or retire abroad places such as Spain.

No man is an Island. We have to work together.
