A workshop has been gutted along with several cars are a fire erupted in Tottenham last night.
More than 20 firefighters tackled the blaze in Walpole Road as ten people were made to flee their homes above as the fire raged.
People took to the Twitter to describe the inferno.
@CapriHakeem said: “Fire in Tottenham. It’s really bad. People jumping out of buildings. Hope everyone is safe and sound.”
Station Manager Sean Madeley who was at the scene said: “The flat above the tyre shop which was left smoke logged by the fire had no smoke alarm fitted.
"It’s essential that you have at least one smoke alarm on every level of your home so that in the event of a fire they can give you an early warning and vital seconds in which to escape.”
Fire crews were called at 7.14pm and the fire was under control by 9.05pm.
