A 35-year-old man was stabbed to death in a street fight this morning.

Emergency services were called to a home in Shrewsbury Road, Bounds Green, at around 2am this morning after a fight broke out.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and began administering first aid to a man, aged 35, who had been stabbed.

He was later was pronounced dead whilst on route to hospital.

Police are in the process of contacting next-of-kin and formal identification awaits.

A post-mortem examination will be held at Haringey Mortuary today.

The Homicide and Major Crime Command are now leading this investigation under Detective Chief Inspector Jamie Piscopo.

Enquiries into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and has been taken to a north London police station for questioning.

The deceased and the man arrested were known to each other.
