Alexandra Park has been named one of the best green spaces in the country for the seventh time.

The 196-acre park, next to the iconic Alexandra Palace, has received a Green Flag Award from the Keep Britain Tidy campaign, which recognises high standards and excellent facilities at parks across the UK.

Other sites in Haringey which received the award include Lordship Recreation Ground, Bruce Castle Park, Queen’s Wood, Finsbury Park and Coldfall Wood.

Mark Evison, Alexandra Park manager said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive a Green Flag Award for seventh time from Keep Britain Tidy.

“This award recognises the extent to which our park benefits the people of Haringey and beyond by providing a green space of the very highest quality.

International Green Flag Award scheme manager Paul Todd said: “All the flags flying this year are a testament to the efforts of the thousands of men and women, both staff and volunteers, who work tirelessly to maintain the high standards demanded by the Green Flag Award.”
