Haringey’s female volleyball team have crossed their palms with silver at the London Youth Games.
The girls managed to get to the final of the competition but were undone by defending champions Wandsworth so had to settle for silver medals.
The team was competing at the Balfour Beatty London Youth Games finals at Crystal Palace over the course of Saturday and Sunday.
Team manager Michael Omojudi was proud of his team’s efforts despite falling at the last.
He said: ““These girls done a good job and I’m really happy for them. It’s the last chance for some of them here today and to walk away from here with a silver medal, Congratulations to them.
“We came strong, we came tall, we came big and we got some medals. Even though we stumbled at the first block, we kept on going and we gave them a good run for their money but we ended up falling short at the final hurdle.
“I say 'Congratulation to Wandsworth' but next year we are coming back. These girls have proudly represented their borough and that’s a huge achievement for them.”
